Philanthropy

Jeff Berkowitz is the Chairman of Berkowitz Development Group, Inc.  He has been engaged over 35 years in the development and management of large commercial real estate shopping centers and is recognized as one of the pre-eminent retail developers in Miami-Dade County, Florida.

 

Mr. Berkowitz and his company have been deeply engaged in community leadership in South Florida.  He is a trustee and served as chairman of the National Leaders Forum for the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce. He served as a member of the National Board of Directors of People for the American Way and as Executive Director of Miami-Dade County’s Independent Review Panel.

 

Mr. Berkowitz’s passion is helping children.  He is the current chairman of the Miami Children’s Museum.  Together with his wife Yolanda, they are active supporters of many organizations that focus on children, including Voices for Children Foundation, Charlee, Miami Heat Charitable Foundation, Jackson Memorial Hospital Foundation, and The United Way Center for Excellence.
